[edit] Production notes
It is noted for being very faithful to the original text. It also reunited Nigel Havers and David Yelland who performed together in the 1981 film, Chariots of Fire.
It was sadly very underrated, particularly to American viewers who have only recently discovered the accuracy of this version above the 1939 film starring Shirley Temple and the 1996 film starring Liesl Matthews (Pritzker).
