A Gunfight is a movie from 1971 with Kirk Douglas, Johnny Cash, Jane Alexander, Karen Black, Raf Vallone and Eric Douglas.
[edit] Plot
Two aging and famous but poor gunfighters, played by Douglas and Cash, stage a duel in a bullfight arena, with the ticket money to the winner.
The actual gunfight, in which one fighter shoots and kills the other, is shot in a low-key and unromanticised fashion, over in around a couple of seconds.
There is an extended fantasy sequence near the end, in which we see the widow of the defeated gunfighter imagining what might have happened if her husband would have won. This scene may have confused some viewers.
