A Grande Família

A Grande Família (The Big Family) is a critically-acclaimed Brazilian television comedy, and is one of the most-watched shows in Brazil. The show airs on the Globo Network , and tells the story of a typical lower middle-class family living in a suburb neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro.
The family consists of the working father, Lineu, the housewife mother, Nenê, the son Tuco, the daughter Bebel and Bebel's fiance, the typical carioca "malandro" and a taxi driver, Agostinho. The grandfather, Floriano, was written out of the story after the death of the actor.
A movie based on the series premiered on January 10, 2007.[citation needed]
