A Fool for You

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"A Fool for You" is a bluesy, proto-soul single written by and released as a single by Ray Charles in 1955 on the Atlantic label.

The song features a pained and emotional vocal from Charles, whose unique sound helped to create the soul music genre, which became a popular art form of music in the years following this single. It became his second number-one R&B single after "I Got a Woman".[citation needed]

The song was a precursor to similar ballads such as "Drown In My Own Tears".
