A Day Out is an episode of the British sitcom Porridge.

Fletcher and the fellow inmates are working on drains for the council not some fictional bypass, Mr Mackay leaves the party in the hands of Mr Barrowclough, the lads let out a cheer when a nurse goes past on her bike,

A storm occurs, and the party takes shelter in a church, Fletcher goes into the town to get medical help when 'Horrible' Ives has an injury. But stops at the local pub for a pint of real ale, but is almost caught by Mr Mackay.

Mackay notices that the party has gone from the drain and gets help from the prison, upon his return the party is back in the hole working on the drain.
