Talk:A48(M) motorway
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Do you remember the nature of junction 29 when this motorway opened in 1977? A few months earlier than CBRD motorway chronology map says, because it was already open before July. User:Tern 20:10 (BST) 30 Jul 05
- Presumably J29 was not really a junction - the mainline of the M4 motorway would have just carried on onto what's now the A48(M). This aerial photo clearly shows what looks to be the unused old M4 carriageway alongside the westbound A48(M) carriageway. Richard B 07:40, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

- J29 opened as it currently is today, according to personal recollections of people around the time. The abandoned carriageway was constructed as a temporary diversion when the Westbound carriageway needed to have some works carried out. Craig449 23:33, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
