[edit] Summary

Description

A Douglas A3D-1 Skywarrior at NAS Jacksonville, Florida (USA). The photo must have been taken before 1955, when light gray ("gull gray") for tops and sides and white for undersides became standard camouflage for all U.S. Navy combat aircraft. The number "422" may indicate that this aircraft is A3D-1 BuNo 135422. Two Grumman S2F Trackers (right) and a Grumman AF Guardian (left) are visible in the background.
