A. C. Steere Elementary School is located on Youree Drive in Shreveport, Louisiana. It is on the National Registry for Historic Sites and has a beautiful stucco and clay roof facility.[citation needed] It is the highest performing non-magnet school under the direction of the Caddo Parish School Board. It features a staff who hold Masters Degrees in elementary education and is home to the gifted preschool program for Caddo Parish, which houses the brightest three and four-year-olds in the area. It has a small student population. The current principal is Kathy Turner.
