Isn't "Yankee" a better word than "Anglo" for these purposes: clearer (at least to Americans), more accurate, closer to contemporary usage, less ambiguous and less pejorative? (Of course there have to be good arguments the other way.) Shakescene (talk) 09:49, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
Don't those of Ulster Protestant stock in the United States call themselves "Scotch-Irish" rather than "Scots Irish", even though the Scots themselves prefer being called Scots or Scottish to being called Scotch? Shakescene (talk) 09:49, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
NB: TYPO IN HEADLINE. DON'T KNOW HOW TO CORRECT IT. IT'S 'OAKEY HALL' IN REST OF TEXT (AND ELSEWHERE), BUT 'OAKLEY HALL' IN THE HEADLINE (JONBOOR) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jonboor (talk • contribs) 01:17, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
