[edit] 2007 match fixing scandal

At the end of the Clausura 2007 tournament, 9 de Julio were kicked out of the quarter finals of the promotion playoff and replaced by Juventud Antoniana. This came about because 9 de Julio were found guilty of fixing a 1-1 draw with Central Norte which was all they needed in order to qualify for the end of season playoffs.

The evidence against the clubs took the form of a video of the agreement which was broadcast on Argentine Sports channel TyC Sports.

The club will begin the 2008 Apertura tournament with a deduction of six points and their manager; Jorge Solterman has been banned from football for five years.
