I saw your edit summary, and thought I'd stop by to say that you got it about 95% correct. The only bit you slipped up on is that current requests go at the top of the page, not the bottom. If you have a look at the page, you'll see that requests for page protection go at the top, for unprotection below that, requests for edits to protected pages below that, then the bottom bit is an archive of recently fulfilled / denied requests. I moved your request to the top, and another admin subsequently semi-protected the page for 2 days. Any problems or questions, feel free to leave a message on my talk page.
