Clearing an autoblock

Due to the nature of the block applied we need additional information before we can decide whether to unblock you. It is very likely that you are not personally blocked. If you are prevented from editing, it may be because you are autoblocked or blocked because of your IP address. Without further details there is nothing further we can do to review or lift your block. Please follow these instructions:

  1. If you have a Wikipedia account, please ensure that you are logged in.
Your account name will be visible in the top right of this page if you are.
If it isn't, try bypassing your web browser's cache.
  2. Try to edit the Sandbox.
  3. If you are still blocked, copy the {{unblock-ip|...}} code generated for you under the "IP blocked?" section. This is usually hidden within the "What do I do now?" section. If so, just click the "[show]" link to the right hand side to show this text.
  4. Paste the code at the bottom of your user talk page and click save.

If you are not blocked from editing the sandbox then the autoblock on your IP address has already expired and you can resume editing. --  Netsnipe  ►  17:43, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

This blocked user (block log | autoblocks | rangeblocks | unblock | contribs | deleted contribs) has asked to be unblocked, but an administrator has reviewed and declined this request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock request while you are blocked.

Request reason: "The problem is I don't have an account so I have no way of creating one for me to use. There are quite a few errors and inaccuracies in the "Plot Summary" section of the Red Dragon article which I would like to correct as well. How can I get an account made for me?"

Decline reason: "See, the problem for us is that you are under a special kind of block called an "autoblock". We can't do anything here yet, because we cannot identify the source of the problem. You can, however, and then help US to help YOU. Netsnipe has left some instructions at the top of the page. Please follow this step-by-step, and we can fix this. — Jayron32.talk.contribs 18:18, 25 January 2008 (UTC)"

Please make any further unblock requests by using the {{unblock}} template. However, abuse of the template may result in your talk page being protected.

Ok thanks for the help!

THANKS for that. Now that we know who blocked this IP address, we can ask her directly to come unblock you. Alison is very active around here, and usually gets back to these things within a few hours. I will notify her of your request, and give her the time to review it. Thanks for being understaning of this. --Jayron32.talk.contribs 18:35, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
No problem.
NOTE FOR UNBLOCKING ADMIN: 19:53, January 20, 2008 Alison (Talk | contribs | block) blocked "91.108.192.0/18 (Talk)" (anon. only, account creation blocked) with an expiry time of 1 month ‎ (Abusing sock puppet accounts: {{subst:Checkuserblock}} - absolutely nothing but vandalism) (Unblock)
  • Above is the rangeblock that apparently caught this user. I am an admin, but unsure how to proceed from here. Seeking additional help. --Jayron32.talk.contribs 19:09, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

The block is an anon-only block, so if we can get you an account, you should be okay. Maybe the best thing is if you just request an account, because it's unlikely this rangeblock will be overturned just so you can create an account. We'll need to know your requested username and an email address. You should check Special:Listusers to be sure your requested username isn't already taken, and look over Wikipedia:Username policy for guidance on picking an appropriate username. Once we have that, and your requested username isn't already taken, an admin can create an account for you and email you the password, which you should change afterwards. You can either post that information here, or if you are concerned about your privacy, you can email me your request and I will take care of it. Mangojuicetalk 19:40, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

I don't think the email user function works if you don't already have an account. I would suggest contacting the Unblocking mailing list with the details of your block and what username you would like. It is preferred that you contact them using an ISP, school, or other non-free email address. Mr.Z-man 19:58, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Hi there. Sorry for the delay. Unfortunately, due to the nature and extent of the vandalism and abuse from this range, I am unable to unblock your IP address at this time. However, I'll gladly create an account for you if you'd like to drop me an email with your own email address and a name you would like that doesn't appear in Special:Listusers. Apologies for all the difficulty and confusion here. If you cannot use the email function, send me a message at alliewiki@gmail.com - thanks - Alison 19:59, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
