This template generates a generic 8 team, double-elimination tournament bracket. It matches the brackets used in the NCAA College World Series from 1950 through 1987.

[edit] Template Parameters

The following should be included in any articles wishing to use this template:

  • RD1, RD2, RD3, RD4, RD5 - The names of each of the respective rounds
  • RDX-teamY - Indicates Team Y in Round X
  • RDX-scoreY - Team Y's score in Round X

Note that the finals can be a 2-game series if the loser's bracket team beats the winner's bracket team in the finals. This is indicated with the "RD5-score0[12]-game[12]" parameter.

  • Draw the lines in between the games like all the other brackets. See Template:8TeamBracket.
  • Add a conditional bracket slot which is used only if there exists three one-loss teams. This slot is filled by a random draw as a bye to the finals. This tactic was used in the 1950s in the NCAA College World Series.
