Welcome to wikipedia. If it helps the main reason cannabis is banned is because of its effect, often years after it is last used, on the mental health of users. It causes severe mental health problems. It probably contributed to the post traumatic strees disorder sufferer (and heavy cannabis user) who admitted shooting his family yesterday in britain, doing what he did.

Please feel free to register by clicking the link in the top right hand corner of the page. this enables you to choose the name you are called by on wikipedia, and some people take registered users more seriously. Most vandals never register an acccount, while most users eventually register. It is free, and you do not have to provide contact details, although there is an option to provide your E-Mail address, and be contacted through wikipedia. You can also keep your identity on wikipedia if you change ISP, or when away from your home computer. Many users leave a message, from the IP address they used, on their talk page, telling people the name they registered under, so that peole know how to contact them after they register.
