[edit] RAF Woodvale

For 33 years of its history, including its wartime service, RAF Woodvale was in Lancashire. The category is thus wholly appropriate. I suggest you check your history before making kneejerk reactions and falsely accusing far more experienced editors than yourself of vandalism. -- Necrothesp 00:08, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

You can also stop deleting valid categories from natives of/people from categories. Think before you do things like this. And remember that the metropolitan counties have only existed since 1974 - this does not cancel out hundreds of years of history under any Wikipedia policy. These categories are attempting to cater for all people, not just those born after 1974, and those born before 1974 were born in Lancashire. Thank you. -- Necrothesp 00:11, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

I am pursuing no POV whatsoever. Post-1974 it's Merseyside. Pre-1974 it's Lancashire. Where's the POV in that? It's fact. POV would be trying to deny the existence of one or the other, which I am certainly not doing (and you appear to be). But inaccurately accusing people of vandalism is unwarranted - all you have done is start to throw accusations around with no knowledge of me and no basis for your claims, and that is not acceptable. For historical matters, the historical county is the accurate one. These RAF stations were, for most of their existence, in Lancashire (indeed, when Knowsley Safari Park was an RAF station there was no Merseyside - or do you think the creation of counties is backdated?). If somebody is looking for the history of aviation in Lancashire, then putting it in Merseyside would be useless to them. It wouldn't be so bad if there was a Category:Aviation in Merseyside. As there isn't, all you have done is delete information. This does not improve Wikipedia. -- Necrothesp 10:08, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

You are puseing a POV your just not capable of seeing it. You talk page reeks of someone trying to reinstate the past. STick to cornwall.--84.9.192.124 11:20, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
I'm afraid you are talking rubbish and also seem incapable of being anything other than offensive. The simple fact is that 30 years of history does not cancel out hundreds. If you believe it does then you are obviously unfamiliar with the world and the whole concept of history. I have never said that these places are currently in Lancashire; I have said they were in Lancashire. Why are you unable to distinguish the difference? I can't believe that you appear to be arguing with the simple fact that when Knowsley safari park was connected with aviation it was in Lancashire. Do you honestly believe that because it is now in Merseyside it was somehow always in Merseyside? -- Necrothesp 13:31, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
It is you that is talking rubbish and is offensive. Now go back to the sticks and deal with something you understand.--84.9.192.124 18:39, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

I dont know what you are doing, but I mistook it as vandalism - you're now unblocked. Apologies, but why the excessive edit summaries?  Glen  12:47, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
