Request reason: "How did you check it? AFAIK it is NOT open-proxy. If you claim otherwise, prove it somehow."

Decline reason: "To say the least, your IP shows up on 4 real-time blacklists (see "Multi-RBL" list, above). Jpgordon, the administrator who blocked you, is a checkuser and well aware of how to check for open proxies. Sorry, but it looks like you'll need to use another web connection. – Luna Santin (talk) 21:23, 3 March 2007 (UTC)"

Request reason: "I'm sorry, but he is simply wrong. This IP is NOT open-proxy. Multi-RBL lists also open relays, but open relays are not the same thing as open-proxy. BTW - jpgordon is not present in this list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_on_open_proxies/verified_users (nor you are)."

Unblocked

Per a request on meta, I've rechecked this ip, and it appears to me to be quite secure. It has four red listings on Multi-RBL, including a SORBS listing; however, all listings are for spam concerns, not for being a zombie or an OP. In any case, I do believe this proxy was once open, but is not any more. For this reason, I'm going to unblock--if anyone objects, please feel free to reblock; however, please kindly let me know. Below are the nmap results on this ip as of 9 March 07:

Thanks for unblock

Thank you for checking this IP and confirming that it is not open-proxy. BTW - you've written: I do believe this proxy was once open,(...) -- just for the record - I want to say that I checked this IP in similar manner from external host and I got similar results - i.e. not open-proxy - IN A DAY OF BLOCK. So I believe this block was unfounded from the beginning. Anyway, thanks again for unblocking and have a nice vacation. 83.238.180.4 16:58, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
