Hey! Thanxs for your efforts on the "War on Terror" page. However, whether the war is actually counterproductive is extremely political. A briefing paper is not necessarily enough to substantiate the removal of the word "allegedly". Take a look at Wikipedia:Verifiability for more information. I'll hold off reverting your edit until I hear your side in a reasonable amount of time. Feel free to contact me by leaving me a message on my talk page. Have fun editing! Thank you very much for the message! The increase in terrorism isn't evident to me...since I hear more about planned terrorist plots that were foiled due to increase vigilance after the "War on Terror" started. In order of the source to be a valid, the source will have to be cited by major news sources or organizations. Take a look at Wikipedia:Verifiability for more details. Based on the War on Terror page on Wikipedia, there isn't a raise in terrorism. However, I look forward to the other sources you have. If you find something interesting, feel free to edit other pages besides the war on terror game page. Have a good day and have fun editing! =D Jumping cheese 00:34, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

I agree with all your points. However, using Iraq as an example is somewhat misleading, since the country has been destabilized since there is no authoritative government keeping a tight control over the country anymore. And the statistics indicating the rising trend can also be misleading. As you mentioned what defines a terrorist attack? A suicide bombing, a roadside bomb attack, or an all out hijacking of commercial aircrafts? Yes, I agree there is a significant rise in the smaller attacks due to the Iraq War. However, is there a rise in major terrorist attack like in the scale of 9/11? I don't believe so. There has been plots to carry out major terrorist attacks, but they have almost always been snuffed out. Also, the number of reported terrorist attacks can be attributed to increase vigilance. Suicide bombings that might have gone unnoticed in the past are now reported. It's almost like the case with autism. Is there really a huge rise in the number of autism cases due to some environmental factor, or has health care providers simply become more knowledgeable regarding the disorder and thus more likely to diagnose a child with autism?

However, your general argument is very convincing. The word "allegedly" can be removed, but the statement cannot make the situation sound so black and white.

Also, would you mind if I moved the discussion over to the talk page of the "War on Terror (game)" page? Oh...and if it's not too much trouble, can you please create an account on Wikipedia? In case you have a dynamic IP address, I won't be able to contact you in the future. You have the mentality to be a very productive member of Wikipedia and I will be more than happy to work with you in the future. Thanks for listening and have fun editing! =)

Oh...my name is also Andrew, so I like you already! ;) Jumping cheese 19:06, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
