Please do not replace the paragraph on the origin of language page until reliable sources can be used to verify the content. Reliable sources include articles published in peer-reviewed journals and books published by academic publishing houses. Websites are not considered sources. WLU (talk) 11:42, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
- The reliable source: It has been reviewed by Bourget and Chalmers for inclusion on the “online papers on consciousness” source at http://consc.net/online/2.8a under the name “Dynamic systems principles provide a reductive explanation of phenomenal experience and evolutionary foundations for H.o.T”. Being a recent paper it has not yet gone to print but is still receiving a lot of attention... hence the website.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.4.179.128 (talk • contribs)

- That link appears to be dead. I have replied to you on my talk page and pasted the discussion on Talk:Origin_of_language#Hierarchal_systems_theory for further comment. Saying that "dynamic systems principles" and HST are the same thing is original research without a reference. I've removed the section again as it is only referenced to a self-published source that fails to demonstrate it has received serious scholarly attention, making it an unreliable source. I've also removed the sections or embedded sources for the areas you pointed out on my talk page, when necessary. If HST is a legitimate topic, and not a fringe topic, it should be easy to provide real citations to academic sources. Wikipedia is not the place to publish original research or novel theories. As it says on that page, "If you have done primary research on a topic, publish your results in other venues such as peer-reviewed journals, other printed forms, or respected online sites, and Wikipedia will report about your work once it becomes part of accepted knowledge. Not all information added to Wikipedia has to be from peer-reviewed journals, but please strive to make sure that information is reliable and verifiable. For example, citing book, print, or reliable web resources demonstrates that the material is verifiable and is not merely the editor's opinion." This is not an unduly strict or onerous standard, but it is policy. WLU (talk) 13:37, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
