Please comply with our neutrality policy. I see you are nearing the limit on reverting edits, so please don't break it. Breaking this "electric fence" means you could be blocked. Johnleemk | Talk 16:08, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
The problem is that this appears to contradict conventional wisdom about Newfoundland; you are removing all information about the accepted hypothesis, and replacing it with your favoured version. This is not acceptable under our neutrality policy. Instead, add the information to the end of the section on European settlement, and preface it with something like "Portuguese historians have argued that..." We should not give credence to different opinions, but instead mention them and let the reader decide. Anyway, after you add that, I'll help you cite the book (by the way, what is its ISBN?). The English is difficult to understand, so I had to tag it for cleanup, and it still might not be so neutral, but otherwise it looks okay. Maybe you should register an account if you want to keep editing, since it'll be helpful if other editors want to contact you. :) Johnleemk | Talk 16:28, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
Well, Wikipedia is a work in progress, so some low-quality here and there is to be expected. :) If you prefer, though, you can move it to Talk:Canada where improvements to it can be discussed before putting it back on the main article. Johnleemk | Talk 16:45, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
No, anyone can edit Wikipedia -- we don't have "authors" who own any particular article. I see your addition has been removed as too detailed for the main article. Perhaps you could add it to History of Canada instead? The English is very poor, actually, so you might want to see if you can improve it before adding it to that article.
