[edit] Learning how to Wiki
I do not know what you mean by "learn how to Wiki before editing an article" (aimed at another contributor in the Paul Roos), because one of the foundations of Wikipedia is the fact that that anyyone can edit it.
If there was something like "learning how to Wiki" you would probably have not yet mastered it yet either, because being a Wikipedian also means being civil and not biting newcomers (despite their initial mistakes).

[edit] giving the benefit of doubt
I suppose being able to Wiki is almost like letting a kid play with matches, one never knows what they may get up to. Then it may be like being able to build beautiful sandcastles on the beach.. only to be wrecked or modified when one turns ones back..
Having enough time to Wiki is a key factor..
