From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Anyone who edits on Wikipedia under an IP address is notified at the top of the page that "your IP address (which can be used to determine the associated network/corporation name) will be recorded publicly, along with the time and date, in this page's edit history." This is the method of attribution used for compliance with the GFDL, under which Wikipedia is published. This policy is unlikely to change anytime soon. Regardless, I have no ability to change MediaWiki, so you'd probably want to talk to the Wikimedia Foundation. 17Drew 16:01, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
