[edit] GNU/Linux redirect

Hi. You wrote this in an edit summary:

your change on GNU/Linux was reverted by another user, use the talk page for controversial changes and don't revert war against consensus

I would like to point out that it was one revert on my side and two on yours. Your tone suggests a sense of superiority, which I find offensive. Furthermore, "majority" does not constitute "consensus". When an editor disagrees, clearly no consensus has been reached. 80.233.255.7 00:40, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Hey. If you read the talk pages, you can see that there is a disagreement of what the page should contain. But no-one has ever suggested redirecting to GNU. Therefore, such a move is highly controversial. There was nothing wrong with your change, originally, of course. Being bold is good and suggestions are always welcome. But when an editor, or in this case two, revert your changes, it's not a good idea to revert back but to take the conversation to the talk page. Thanks, Prolog 00:47, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
You did not say that in your edit summary, which said "rv - this redirects to where GNU/Linux redirects". Thanks for explaining that now, though. 80.233.255.7 14:43, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Linux kernel edit

Hi. Sorry that I didn't include any message in the edit summary, its usually something that I try to avoid. Discussion started at Talk:Linux kernel#Linux supports such and such architectures. I would also encourage you to create an account. Cheers. --ChrisRuvolo (t) 21:44, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Tivoization

I'm not sure adding "...is a term that describes..." adds anything. Every entry could be described as "...a term that describes...". Aside from a technical distinction along the lines of The Treachery Of Images, it seems to say the same thing. -- Seitz 05:08, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Please create an account

Hi, thanks for participating in the discussion on Talk:Linux, but could you create an account? There are now a lot of IP addresses appearing in the discussions on that page and it's hard to have discussions with voices when people can't tell which comments are from the same person or two or ten people. You can use an pseudonym for your username, so you're privacy will not be reduced - indeed, it will be increased because you're IP address will no longer be displayed. (BTW, I'm putting this notice on the Talk page of each IP address that joins the discussion, it's not just you.) Thanks. Gronky 14:41, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
