All these Michelson Morley type experiments are based upon an assumption. The assumption is that aether has a wind, or movement and that masses and light can move relative to the aether. A ball bobbing on water has a vibrational cycle and amplitude just like light and yet it has no velocity relative to the water. If this assumption is invalid then all the conclusions from the Michelson Morely and subsequent experiments are invalid. In the following cases the conclusions would be invalid: 1. The Aether has no velocity at all including no zero velocity. Velocity being a three dimensional space characteristic and not not an aspect of a fourth dimesion, of what the Aether clearly is. 2. The Aether has an infinite velocity, for example if a photon which has marginal mass can travel at the speed of light, so something having no mass can travel faster by extrapolation.
If ever the Michelson Morley and subsequent experiments indicate anything, then these two factors are indicated.
For reference purposes, Nicola Tesla has also discussed similar considerations and so has Noel Huntley and various others ins his bibliography references.
