[edit] Welcome
Welcome
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages

- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
You are welcome to continue editing articles without logging in, but you may wish to create an account. Doing so is free, requires no personal information, and provides several benefits. For one thing, if you edit without a username, your IP address (79.72.61.16) is used to identify you instead.
In any case, I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your IP address (or username if you're logged in) and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place {{helpme}} before the question on your talk page. Again, welcome!
Please do realise that everyone is allowed to edit in any way they see fit, and you can't really ask other editors not to edit an article untill you will make an (even uncontroversial) edit, like you did on in the comment on the Gmail page. Afterall, the important thing is that the article is good, not who made which edit. Martijn Hoekstra 19:24, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
- Indeed. I just came here to leave a similar message. Asking other editors not to edit an article goes against the principles of a wiki, among which is open modification. Whoever gets to it first will get to it first. I hope to myself, but if someone else gets to it first, oh well; there's always 5.5 GB. Relax, please; you'll get your turn to update the article. Just watch the counter on the Gmail homepage and when it goes over 5120 MB, feel free to edit. Do not, however, add comments about your "God-given" right to edit the article. Thanks! You guys need to take a valium and chill out, or just bother someone else who cares, shish. No wonder there is so much flaming and edit wars and wikipedia. A jack in a box is easily wound up.

Your recent edit to Gmail (diff) was reverted by an automated bot. The edit was identified as adding either test edits, vandalism, or link spam to the page or having an inappropriate edit summary. If you want to experiment, please use the preview button while editing or consider using the sandbox. If this revert was in error, please contact the bot operator. If you made an edit that removed a large amount of content, try doing smaller edits instead. Thanks! // VoABot II 21:19, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to Gmail. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you.Martijn Hoekstra 21:24, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Gmail, you will be blocked from editing. Your edits have been automatically marked as vandalism and have been automatically reverted. If you believe there has been a mistake and would like to report a false positive, please report it here and then remove this warning from your talk page. If your edit was not vandalism, please feel free to make your edit again after reporting it. The following is the log entry regarding this vandalism: Gmail was changed by 79.72.61.16 (c) (t) making a minor change with obscenities on 2007-11-14T21:25:13+00:00 . Thank you. This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
The next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Yahoo!, you will be blocked from editing. ZimZalaBim talk 23:21, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
- If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make any unconstructive edits, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant warnings.
You have been blocked from editing Wikipedia for a period of 24 hours as a result of your disruptive edits. You are free to make constructive edits after the block has expired, but please note that vandalism (including page blanking or addition of random text), spam, deliberate misinformation, privacy violations, personal attacks; and repeated, blatant violations of our policies concerning neutral point of view and biographies of living persons will not be tolerated.--JForget 01:03, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
