[edit] Etymology of toponyms

Those toponyms were written with such characters in official documents prior to the abandonment of those characters in Vietnam, and thus are of significance, since many of those old sources still exist and document the history of Vietnam. Those characters could be moved to an "Etymology" section in each article (rather than blanking), allowing our users to have this information about how the names were written using that writing system (which was used by Vietnamese, not Chinese)--and also including the actual etymology from Cham, Khmer, Tay, or similar languages. "Historial uses" are found in every article of every culture at Wikipedia. I already gave you the etymology of "Ohio," did I not? Vietnam is not a special case where older names should be willfully kept out of the articles, especially when scholars of Vietnam need to refer to these older forms of the names, and their origins.
