[edit] Hello

I don't really know why I'm contributing here - I expect it's going to be completely pointless - but I thought that it might be helpful to address what you have written.

I'd like to start by pointing out that the discussion to which you contributed concerned harassment directed at Rockpocket and his family. I obviously don't know anything about you, but take it from me that whereas in my 20s I would have laughed something like this off, in my 40s, with a family, it's quite another kettle of fish. In any case, why the hell should he have to put up with it? It's deliberately designed to be unpleasant and intimidating and, as he points out, the brave republican (apparently) who is the author shelters behind anonymity himself. It's just as brave as those people who, in the days before digital telephone exchanges, used to make silent telephone calls; or, indeed, blow up public statues.

The post that you've contributed to was certainly intended to be humourous on my part. Buying an elephant rifle for 'home defense' purposes is obviously supposed to be slightly ridiculous rather than a threat, and the reference to putting dynamite up my own arse was a reference to the poem that began to thread. You are obviously an intelligent person (given that all I have to go on is your sophisticated use of English), so why on Earth do you try to twist words out of their ordinary meaning in a way that is completely unrealistic?

If you look here, you'll see that I've actually been one of the minority (of two editors) who have tried to leave the door open for Vintagekits to return. I'm afraid that I came a week too late to the drama that contributed to your own expulsion from Wikipedia, but I felt then that you had been the unwitting victim of a rush to judgment and, however foolish what you had written, you deserved the chance to apologise and make amends. If you read the Vintagekits thread, above, to its conclusion you'll see just how to do that and, if you decide to do so, I'll be the first to second the return of your editing privileges. Having said all that, you'll find the environment has changed; there's now much less tolerance of shit-stirring and casual abuse: and, frankly, a good thing too.--Major Bonkers (talk) 12:02, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Hold on there

I've noticed at Sarah777's page, you've added me to a list. Please 'remove' it. GoodDay (talk) 17:38, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
