[edit] Second Test, 2007-08 Border-Gavaskar Trophy
Hi. Your edits to the above article cannon be verified, as you admit, and therefore cannot be included. The criterion for use in Wikipedia is not truth but verifiability. Of course, your claim is untrue as well, but that is irrelevant. Since it cannot be verified that there has been no claims, the content cannot be used. See Wikipedia:Verifiability for Wikipedia's policy on this issue. -- Mattinbgn\talk 03:09, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
Hi. I will get the verifiable links. btw what makes you so sure that the claim is untrue. Give some verifiable link to the incidents that make you say "Of course, your claim is untrue as well" if you have. 76.241.22.9 (talk) 11:51, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
- I have no intention of including instances of past racism in the article, therefore no need to find a source. A tip, though; read some biographies on West Indian cricketers and look for how they were treated by spectators in India. -- Mattinbgn\talk 04:20, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
- But since you are asking try this one written by a
non-resident Indian- [1] -- Mattinbgn\talk 04:27, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
- I didnt ask you to write that link on the main page, only here just like you did. thanks. So this is just some guys opinion about west indian players being termed as "ghost".. Never even heard about this incident while following each and every cricket series in late eighties and nineties. which year and which series he is talking about. Do you have any idea? Can someone specifically point out even one news report about such an incident other than this guys personal opinion? You probably would not have idea about how much West Indian players of 70s and 80s respected in india compared to your current bunch of ill mannered boys. There is no point in going into the color complexion while the person in question does not have so much of dark complexion. Its a question of referring to his race and evidently as follows the incident did not point to that. If that was the case they would have made monkey comments about steve buckner as well who they apparantly dislike as much as symonds. Clearly its because of the way symonds behaves and dresses. He started on a wrong foot by commenting all over media about his jealousy towards Indian T20 wc win celebrations. Apparantly he could not digest Australias defeat in the semifinals of that event. Now what kind of person gets fumed over other peoples success? Clearly he isnt a gentleman to accept someone elses hour of glory with grace. The comments about him resembling an animal are far from anything to do with his race.. did you look at the way he puts that lip gloss on his face? Even ricky ponting with that lipstick would be called that animal. Its just that the aussie team is too keen to pick up a fight like schoolboys and wont leave a chance to get an argument started and gain some kind of upper hand. In their egoistic, self centered, bragging world they are gods unabashadly associating all the positive to themselves and hiding all the dishonesty and insecurity (as seen in the catches of ganguly/dhoni) behind adjectives like "fair and hard", "baggy green pride" "confidence" etc etc. There is something called modesty and humility which bypassed aussie players and only a sign of weakness for them. Now harbhajan nudged lee by his bat and symonds immediately reached there like protecting his little brother or something.. Why cant he let lee handle the situation himself? they call it the 'mate' thing, seems more like insecurity feeling that this is a dog eat dog world. how far would they go for victory? Is murder/snipers/food poisoning also ok for that? It may not be a big surprise if they would give a go ahead for putting the opposition in a some state easier to take the reins from cuz that is all one remembers. After the match is over you can always declare it was "fair and hard" and "model". A desperate "anything and everything for victory" is something I expect from cultures not so well developed.
You guys had a patrick rafter who I was a fan of.. and somehow the same did not happen with hewitt. (though off late it has become better with him) What I expect from model sportsmen is to be honest and behave in a way they would want others to behave with them. Think about Roger Federer and Pete Sampras. They are also champion winners but somewhat different kind of.
I am not saying that all of this is true but this is the impression they give to everyone.76.241.22.9 (talk) 11:50, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
- My talk page is not a forum for your soapboxing and cultural chauvanism ("cultures not so well developed"). I suggest you take your point up with Mr. Marquesee if you think he or the West Indian players he met are lying. I think this ends our conversation. Regards, Mattinbgn\talk 07:10, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
alright the conversation ends and you should let only mr marquesee delete any updates from that page if you dont have any details.. i wonder what you were doing in this all the time.76.241.22.9 (talk) 11:50, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
