[edit] Mat Roy Thompson
Hello there, I just stumbled upon your entry to the HelpDesk from back in February. I am the main person who has been working on the Mat Roy Thompson article, and I would appreciate any input you would like to give. I have been working off of resources obtained from the Scotty's Castle resource library in Death Valley National Park, but a lot of them are personal accounts and the facts are therefore understandably muddled. If you need help getting acquainted with how to use Wikipedia or need to obtain a citeable source for any information you wish to insert or to have inserted into the article, I would be happy to try to help you in any way I can. You can post any comments, questions, or suggestions you have either on my talk page or on the discussion page of the article itself. Thanks for your interest in the article! I would be very interested in getting it as factually accurate as possible. :)
P.S. For future reference, it's generally considered good etiquette to sign each post you make on a talk or discussion page by ending your post with four tildes ~ in a row, which Wikipedia will automatically convert into an electronic signature. Otherwise other users may have difficulty figuring out who said what, or figuring out how to get back to you if you've asked a question.
Thanks again, hope to hear from you! - Zhukora (talk) 19:50, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
- Hello again. I've made the changes you suggested in your post to HelpDesk in February, so hopefully the Mat Roy Thompson article is now more factually accurate. Unfortunately Mat Roy did not come from a fancy-pants family like the Johnsons did, so the resource library at Scotty's Castle does not have access to a complete genealogy and written records of his children and other family.
- If you are at all interested in providing more accurate and/or complete information about Mat Roy and his (your) family to the resource library so the park service will not continue to disseminate inaccuracies, I would be very, very glad to act as an intermediary. The process of contributing this kind of information to the resource library is very simple, and Matthew Thompson (Jr/Sr?) did so numerous times. Simply let me know whether you are interested by making a post on my talk page (located at this link), and I will find a way to get in touch. - Zhukora (talk) 01:33, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
