Snipers of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit’s Maritime Special Purpose Force are issued the M118 long range ammunition, which is specially produced match-grade military ammunition. This ammunition is manufactured to a higher standard, which provides improved accuracy over standard military ball ammunition to help provide the precision required for the snipers to make a one-inch shot group from one hundred yards.
