The 7.62 mm heavy machine gun is a heavy machine gun used by Romanian Land Forces. It is fed by a belt from a box magazine. It is carried and usually requires only one man for operation but if the rounds are fed from a large container (box), a second person would be needed to hold the belt. It is the main heavy machine gun while a light version still using 7.62 mm is available but uses a 7.62 x 39 mm round instead of the larger 7.62 x 54R mm.
