[edit] Warning

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, you will be blocked from editing. --ElKevbo 16:48, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Confused

What is the second warning even for, in fact, what is the first warning for? I'm on fixed wireless with a shared IP. I can't do things such as download torrents at full speed because my ISP gives only one public ip to many private IP's. When I was at a neighbor's house, I was getting messages to this ip, and now that I'm at home I see them too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.2.162.51 (talkcontribs) 12:33, May 6, 2007

The warning I left was for these two edits. You can view the entire contribution history of edits made from this IP address here.
If you plan on continuing to contribute to Wikipedia, I'd highly recommend creating your own account and using it. Once you do that, you won't be bothered by these messages left for this IP address. --ElKevbo 17:38, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
I do not plan on contributing to Wikipedia, but other people in my city obviously have. DTN SpeedNet often has a handful of IP's for entire cities, and everyone shares. When I have called them asking if one could get a public IP, they say only if one pays about $10 per month for a static IP. I don't like getting warnings for edits that I didn't make and don't plan to make. Is it my fault that some kid across the street thinks it's funny to edit Wikipedia? No. I invite you to look up the scummy reputation of DTN SpeedNet here: http://www.dslreports.com/reviews/2317. You can look up the IP as proof that they are my, and indeed the city's only high-speed, ISP. Any doubts or questions can be quickly resolved by calling DTN and asking them if they have dynamic public IP's. The main problem is that sometimes I get an IP that says my IP has new messages on Wikipedia, I typically ignore it, but I (and others) have had this IP for a while, I am sick of seeing that I have new messages when I'm not doing edits. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.2.162.51 (talkcontribs) 12:51, May 6, 2007
As long as you're using this IP address and you're not logged in you'll see messages intended for it. Sorry. --ElKevbo 17:53, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for your help, I don't really care if editing gets taken away, I just don't want to blocked from the page. I like the information here, but it's a litte unnerving getting warnings for things that kids around town do. As long as I'm not blocked from Wikipedia I'll be fine. Thanks again. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.2.162.51 (talkcontribs) 12:56, May 6, 2007
No problem! You'll never be blocked from viewing Wikipedia regardless of what edits are made from this IP address. The worst that may happen is short- or maybe medium-term blocks preventing this IP address from editing articles. The vandalism would have to be persistent for that to happen and we're cognizant of the fact that there may be many people using the same IP address through no choice of their own. --ElKevbo 18:09, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
