Could you please stop pointless revert war about image on Serbs article? In my opinion, all three versions of the image are bad in different ways, so we may as well not care which one do we use. Actually, I have initially wanted to put there an image of some gathering where people are dressed in traditional clothes, but couldn't find one, so I made the image as a temporary one. OK, what's so wrong about the image I'm using? Is it that one of them is a half-Serb? I honestly don't see the reason for using yours over the other; especially since this one reflects more important people to Serb history.
First, when I said "you", I meant both of you. However, I can notice various problems with your image (and some with the other one); they are not large, but they do exist:
- You don't have information on source images; Icon of Saint Sava looks modern and might be copyrighted, and drawing of Tesla might be copyrighted too. Here people are very paranoid about copyright, and this could present a problem one day.
- Some pictures you have chosen are not widely known: Vuk, Andric, Tesla and Saint Sava; I think that pictures which are most oftenly associated with a person should be used (note that most readers of Wikipedia are not Serbs and wouldn't recognise persons on these less-known images).
- Your selection of people looks somewhat random. Specifically:
- There isn't a single female,
- There is no one who is currently alive.
- I don't see any logic in ordering the pictures; for example, on my picture I ordered people chronologically.
- People's heads have different sizes; it would be visually the best if they would all be similar.
There are similar problem with the other image, but these are things which could and should be discussed, and a better image made. Edit warring is stupid solution for this problem. Nikola 19:59, 12 October 2005 (UTC)
I started the vote on which image should be used at Talk:Serbs#Image vote. Please describe your image and say why do you think it should be used. Nikola 19:30, 17 October 2005 (UTC)
