CheckUser evidence has determined that this IP address (or network) has been used abusively.
This address (or network) has been blocked temporarily or permanently to prevent further abuse. |
In extreme cases, an entire network may be blocked to prevent an abusive user from continually changing their IP address in order to evade blocks or abusing multiple accounts. If you are a registered user and are seeing this message, please follow these instructions.
Administrators: CheckUsers are privy to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy, and therefore must be consulted before this block can be removed.

This blocked user (block log | autoblocks | rangeblocks | unblock | contribs | deleted contribs) has asked to be unblocked, but an administrator has reviewed and declined this request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock request while you are blocked.
Request reason: "I do not see it fair to block an IP that is shared all around the world."
Decline reason: "Massachusetts is hardly "all around the world".[1]. Due to checkuser confirmation, this address has been blocked for six months. - auburnpilot talk 21:56, 10 July 2007 (UTC)"
Please make any further unblock requests by using the {{unblock}} template. However, abuse of the template may result in your talk page being protected.

Request reason: "This IP address is not only used in Mass, I don't know where you got that crap. I live in Florida, and I've seen numerous edits made to this page by this IP, but I didn't make them. Therefore, this MUST be a shared IP no matter what says that it isn't."
Decline reason: "WHOIS and RDNS information both suggest that this IP address resolves to Comcast, somewhere in or near Boston, MA. Additionally, I see above that this IP address is allegedly being used abusively by User:98E, and by checking this page's history, we can see that 98E has been mentioned repeatedly on this talk page, including by users on this IP address. Finally, Checkuser blocks are rarely, if ever, overturned, as they require private information (including the IP addresses used by people who edit Wikipedia) which cannot be released to the public, in accordance with our privacy policy. It is not likely an accident that this IP address was blocked, nor that it has been blocked previously, nor that the block will also prevent logged in users from editing. Apologies. – Luna Santin (talk) 00:47, 11 July 2007 (UTC)"

Can the blocking admin be contacted so that this block can be worked out? I'd do it but I do not have an e-mail address.
- Not really, I'm afraid this block will not be overturned for a considerable period of time. Sorry. GDonato (talk) 17:42, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
- Why can't a user who also has checkuser access do it? This interferes with hundreds of people being able to edit. 71.233.232.243 18:18, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
- I'll send a message to User talk:Dmcdevit for you. Shalom Hello 18:46, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
- This is likely 98E (talk · contribs), who has used this IP recently. However, any legitimate contributors need to log in to edit. If you don't have an account yet, account creation is disabled, so please email unblock-en-l to get an account. Dmcdevit·t 05:21, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- Hi. I'm a user from this IP. I tried following the link you gave but it didn't go anywhere so I'm requesting an account here.
Account name: The375bone
E-mail address: the375bone@yahoo.com
I understand that I need to give my e-mail address, so that the admin that creates it can e-mail me the password. 71.233.232.243 00:17, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
It's difficult to argue with http://samspade.org/whois/71.233.232.243 - how exactly are you all using that IP Address? What software, hardware, and configuration parameters are you using to access Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons, other than Internet Explorer on Windows on a PC on a LAN connected to a Comcast cable modem in Massachusetts? Thanks! — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 06:47, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
| This is the discussion page for an anonymous user, identified by the user's numerical IP address. Some IP addresses change periodically, and may be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users. Registering also hides your IP address.
