Thank you for the numerous additions your've made to the Byzantine Navy, yet I find myself curious as to your sources for such details?--Dryzen 19:48, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

I'm sorry if I caused you any confusion, I got all of these numbers in the 3 volumes on Byzantium by John Julius Norwich. I don't know if they're accurate, so if they're wrong please change them.--71.113.102.33, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

From The Early Centuries, The Apogee and The Decline and Fall? In future edits it would be best to mention once and while where the information comed from and adding that source to the article's dedicated section for bibliography.--Dryzen 16:08, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
I see you've already do so.--Dryzen 16:22, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

I see you edited the casualty figures from the Second Arab siege of Constantinople. I would like to know your sources, since R.G. Grant estimates the Arab casualties to number anywhere from 130,000 to 170,000 men. Considering that 80,000 men was only one part and 1,800 Arab war galleys also carrying soldiers landed there, as well as spring reinforcements from Egypt, and considering that Arab historians consider it a complete disaster with almost the entire force lost, how did you come up with the figure of only 50,000 dead? I might have to revert it back unless you can provide your sources and amply argue your case. -- bbcrackmonkey 17 November 2006

The source that I got this number from was Byzantium: The Early Centuries, but I realize that it doesn't take into account the soldiers from the fleet and the reinforcements from Egypt so please change it back.--71.113.102.33, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
