[edit] Image:Rinffx2.jpg

Please stop removing the tag from Image:Rinffx2.jpg. That tag describes the problems the image has with Wikipedia's fair-use criteria, the rules by which Wikipedia can use images that aren't released under the same (or similar) free license that Wikipedia's text is released under.

If you feel you can resolve these problems, do remove the tag, but just saying "no reason to delete" doesn't make it true. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 09:47, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

You assert that Square-Enix "doesn't care." There isn't any evidence that that isn't true, while on the other hand, Wikipedia does care. We have a strict fair-use policy here on Wikipedia, to preserve Wikipedia's freeness. See the "Wikipedia: the Free Encyclopedia" up in the corner? That doesn't just mean anyone can edit it and it doesn't cost anything to use; it also means that it's free to reuse or modify however you like, under the terms of the GFDL. Restricting non-free images is part of keeping this encyclopedia free. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 09:51, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
Oh, I get it. Making the wiki crappier makes it more free. Sacrifice quality for some weird ideological goal.

Well, it's a pretty marginal loss. There's only two sentences on Rin in the Characters of Final Fantasy X and X-2 article.

But, yes, the decision has been made not to steal non-free images from their copyright holders just because we think it will help our encyclopedia. It was a difficult decision, but it's a necessary one. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 09:56, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Signing posts

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button Image:Wikisigbutton.png located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --McGeddon 10:00, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

No thanks, I prefer not to.
