[edit] Who is a Jew?
My criticism was not aimed at a 100-year-old encyclopedia, although it has its problems, it was your original research that was based, in small part, on a 100-year-old encyclopedia.
But, the fact is that a 100-year-old encyclopedia has almost nothing to tell us about "ethnic Jews" or "cultural Jews" since those labels are of more recent vintage. — Malik Shabazz (talk · contribs) 04:08, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
- First of all, I changed it an hour-and-a-half after you made your changes, not a minute later.
- But that doesn't change the fact that you're adding original research. Please read Wikipedia's policy, WP:No original research. — Malik Shabazz (talk · contribs) 05:00, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

- Are you saying that the new sources, Kertzer' What is a Jew? and Siedman's What Makes Someone a Jew?, specifically say that American Jews more closely resemble other Americans than anybody else, and likewise Asian, European, and Middle Eastern Jews? Because if they don't, what you're writing is original research, and Wikipedia policy is very clear: no original research. — Malik Shabazz (talk · contribs) 22:04, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
