Diagram of British 6 inch Common Lyddite shell Mk XII A.Q.N.T. for Naval service.
A denotes 4 c.r. head.
Q denotes shell is of stronger design than previous Marks, for use in Mk XII gun.
NT denotes shell is fitted with a night tracer in base. Shell has large base plate.
Length 21.4 inches, diameter 5.97 inches, weight filled & fuzed 100 lbs.
Total bursting charge 10 lbs 15 oz, which includes 5 drams TNT exploder.
