69 Boyz are a platinum selling Miami bass and hip hop group originating from Jacksonville, Florida, but who work mainly in Orlando, Florida. The group was created by producers C.C. Lemonhead and Jay Ski (of Chill Deal, Quad City DJs and 95 South), and consists of rappers Van "Thrill Da Playa" Bryant, Barry "Fast" Wright, Greg "Slow" Thomas, and Rottweiler Mike Mike. The name of the group derives from the fact that all of its members were born in 1969; it is not, as has been suggested, related to the 69 sex position.

The group was influenced by the sound of Miami Bass and is classified under the Miami Bass genre. They were one of the first groups, along with 95 South (which had many of the same members) to see mainstream nationwide success in the Miami Bass genre. Earlier Miami Bass artists who they drew influence from included the 2 Live Crew and their leader/hype man Luke Campbell. 69 Boyz and their stylistic and sometimes membership partners 95 South and later the Quad City DJ's, however, used a much more accessible and far less explicit style than Campbell and the 2 Live Crew.

The group had success in the summer of 1994 with its first single, "Tootsee Roll", from their debut album 199Quad. The song went double platinum and reached #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and R&B charts. This song became popular amongst Jock Jams fans. The song samples Art Of Noise's song "Moments In Love". "Tootsee Roll" became a nationwide hit because of its use in a popular movie shortly after the album release. Other farily successful singles they have had include "Kitty Kitty", also from the album 199Quad, which peaked at #55 on the Billboard Hot 100, and 1998's "Woof Woof", written for the feature film Dr. Dolittle starring Eddie Murphy, and also appearing on their second album, The Wait Is Over. The song reached #31 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Their debut album, released in 1994, was called Nineteen Ninety Quad, a reference to the year of its release. Nineteen Ninety Quad was a huge success in and around Florida, popular with Floridians of the generation of the album release time frame. Their second album, The Wait Is Over, came out in 1998, and their third album, 2069, in 2000.
