[edit] Sacha Baron Cohen
The article you are using for a source does not mention any "Iranian heritage" and thus violates Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons. Please stop or you could end up being blocked. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 06:09, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
- If you look at this you can see that I'm not the only one who removed it. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 03:28, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
Hey there. I'm not sure if you're aware that that Iranian link has been discussed extensively before. If you don't want editors to keep reverting that informationn, please discuss this on the talk page first before making changes. Thanks! Spellcast 02:19, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
Also, be aware of the three revert rule. Spellcast 02:21, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Sacha Baron Cohen
The added information to Mr. Cohen's page mentioning the Iranian heritage of his mother is a minor but important and accurate modification that is cited and the reference is from a valid, current and dependable source. Please respect Wikipedia rules to provide facts with sources to inform and not filtered information that promotes one ideology over another. 69.255.101.99 20:43, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Blocked
You may have noticed that people dispute your changes to Sacha Baron Cohen. Rather than simply reinstate them over and over (see Wikipedia:Edit warring) please try to engage in discussion that doesn't involve assuming bad faith in others and accusing them of racism, etc. – Steel 16:55, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] re: Blocked for Writing the Truth
I have engaged in discussion and unfortunately these "people" you are referring to are intent on preventing certain facts from remaining on Mr. Cohen's article simply because they do not favor a country, people or race. Please respect Wikipedia's goal of providing accurate, unbiased information.69.255.101.99 05:08, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
On Mr. Cohen's discussion page, you're not refuting his Iranian heritage and I am not denying that his mother is Israeli. Just because only a few articles mention that his mother is of Iranian heritage doesn't mean that it isn't true MadJack. Heritage is often an obscure fact that is reported less often. Please respect Wikipedia and allow comprehensive information to be presented. Do not use the block feature out of spite. I am trying not to assume bad faith but absent any conclusive evidenct to the contrary, deleting Mr. Cohen's mother's Iranian heritage day after day is not logical or an exercise in good faith. Please unblock.69.255.101.99 05:08, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
- Part of the reason you are blocked is because you constantly make baseless accusations of racism when there isn't any. Read the talk page, specifically Talk:Sacha Baron Cohen#Mr. Cohen.27s Heritage, where the editors make it clear why they are removing that information. Secondly, continually reinstating changes which you know are disputed by others is edit warring, which is blockable regardless of whether these racism accusations are true. Nobody here, least of all me, has a personal grudge against you. – Steel 13:14, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

- On numerous occasions, woithout mentioning any racist tendencies by the deniers of Mr. Cohen's mother's Iranian heritage, I have explained that the source of my information is valid. I have been polite courteous and I have explained my reasoning for thre minor change. If a fact is disputed, why is my version blocked yet the version that removes the word Iranian and inserts in it's place an old and non-functioning citation allowed free reign?69.255.101.99 21:15, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

- Well one version had to be "blocked". The current version seemed to have more support. Wikipedia works on consensus; you appear to be the lone dissenter. – Steel 21:34, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Please Unblock
I made a minor modification to the article on Mr. Sacha Baron Cohen. The modified sentence merely mentioned the fact that Mr. Cohen's mother is of Iranian heritage. I provided a dependable and current citation to a source that states this. Every day, the word Iranian is deleted and most of the time the citation that replaced it is from a small newspaper that no longer retrieve's the story that supposedly discusses Mr. Cohen. I have explained my edit on numerous occasions and on numerous discussion pages always politely and always in the interest of ensuring that Wikipedia is a source for comprehensive information. When I was accused of jumping to conclusions in mentioning bigotry, I rephrased subsequent discussion to focus on the facts at hand and the validity of the reference I used. I have not reverted three times per day and I have not recruited others to turn this into a childish war. I am disappointed that another user can block me when I have simply tried to make Wikipedia more factually correct. I am requesting that this block b removed immediately. Please see my discussion postings on various sites and you will see that this simple and accurate addition to Mr. Cohen's site is anything but inaccurate and nefarious. Thank you.
What reliable source are they using to state that his mother is from Israel and verifying that she is not of Iranian heritage? THE CITATION cURRENTLY ON DISPLAY DOESN'T EVEN WORK!!!! How is my functional citation from a reputable newspaper less reliable?
I can't write to ARBCOM because I am blocked and I don't have their email. I am losing all faith in Wikipedia!
