[edit] July 2007
Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent contribution removed content from Battle of the Trench. Please be more careful when editing pages and do not remove content from Wikipedia without a good reason, which should be specified in the edit summary. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment again, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Trusilver 02:10, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
- If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make any unconstructive edits, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant warnings.
Please stop. If you continue to blank out (or delete portions of) page content, templates or other materials from Wikipedia, as you did to Battle of the Trench, you will be blocked from editing. Trusilver 02:13, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

This is your last warning.
The next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Battle of the Trench, you will be blocked from editing. Wikipedia is not the place to make a political statement, there are plenty of message boards for that. see WP:SOAPBOX Trusilver 02:14, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

I had previously added, on quite a few occasions a valuable and useful contribution to the Battle of the Trench page. It was referenced and substantiated. On each occasion someone removed it, so I in turn removed what they had left in place of my text. I have only been contributing to Wikipedia for a relatively short time and thought that was how it was done. There is a tremendous amount to learn about Wiki. Miles of protocol, etc. Since your block of my address, I've read the restrictions on not blanking and clearly the site's policy is much better than "simply fighting it out". Therefore I certainly will not remove chunks of someone else's text in the future, though I may politely refer them to you for arbitration. I do ask to be shown the same courtesy. If you have any advice as administrator that would help me in the future as a quick tutorial, I would appreciate it. For these reasons I would appreciate being unblocked. Thanks. By the way, I never received any of the above warnings until after I was blocked.

I've contacted the blocking admin, and suggested they review your request. CitiCat ♫ 05:48, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Information about Wikipedia
To answer your question, the only relationship between myself and User:Trusilver is that we both edit Wikipedia. I am an administrator and I also do recent changes patrol, which is how I came across your edits. I'm not sure whether or not Trusilver is an admin and I don't know how they came across your edits. They may also be an RC patroller, or they may have the article in question watchlisted.
Any user can warn another user for inappropriate behavior, as long as the warnings are made in good faith. There are various templated warnings which are used with newer users and for any simple vandalism. However, when one is dealing with an experienced user it is considered polite to eschew the templated warnings for a personal message. Basically, a user is usually given five chances before they are blocked, and the block can range from a few minutes to indefinitely. (Your block, by the way, was only 24 hours, so you would have been able to edit again in about 8 hours no matter what anyone did.)
Sometimes, if the vandalism (or seeming vandalism) is obvious enough many different editors will end up warning the same user, and the admin that blocks may not have warned them at all. In other situations, one user may follow the vandalism of a single IP until they've been given the full series of warnings, and then either block them or alert administrators so they can be blocked (through the administrators intervention against vandalism noticeboard). Lastly, usernames or IP addresses may seem to have been blocked without receiving any warnings. This occurs when a user that has been blocked previously returns and behaves in the same manner. They are considered to have already been warned, and so can be blocked subsequently with no warning or notice.
Your edits appeared to be vandalism for a few reasons. Firstly, Wikipedia software keeps track of the changes in page length from one edit to another, which is expressed in bytes. The recent changes page shows the change in bytes, which can range from 0 (fixing a misspelled word) to 40,000 (completely blanking the page). Your changes were also changing the length of the page dramatically, so they were more noticeable on recent changes. This would normally not be such a problem, except you weren't using an edit summary, which explains what changes you were making. Lastly, you didn't respond to any talk page messages. I understand that you didn't see them (this occurs semi-regularly with IP addresses) but we have no way of knowing that you haven't received the messages. All of those factors together made it look like you were messing around.
Hope this all makes sense. Feel free to ask me any other questions you might have. Natalie 15:12, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
- I actually don't really edit the page you were editing regularly, so I don't feel qualified to give an opinion. I would suggest you go to the talk page of the article and talk to the regular editors there, who are in a better position to know how to integrate your information into the article. They can also help you with the markup and citation style. Natalie 22:41, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. --Aminz 04:18, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

AMINZ: PLEASE STOP THREATENING ME. Please Stop VANDALIZING BATTLE OF THE TRENCH. You are not an Administrator. However, You have been reported to Admin Natalie Erin. If you have small reasonable changes to make to that page, Aminz, please make them without Vandalizing what is there. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.230.102.217 (talk) 04:13:21, August 19, 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Your recent edits
Hi, there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button
located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot 04:14, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Sorry
Dispute resolution isn't really one of the areas in which I contribute to Wikipedia and I have no experience handling disputes. I am also not a regular editor of Middle Eastern related articles, so I don't feel I am qualified to mediate a content dispute about a Middle East article. I would suggest you follow the steps listed at dispute resolution. If you have tried to resolve the dispute through informal channels and failed, the best bet right now might be to enlist a mediator. You can read more about mediations options available at Wikipedia:Mediation and you can request a mediator at Wikipedia:Requests for mediation. Otherwise I would suggest asking for a third opinion. [edit] Screaming
Anon, please stop screaming at Aminz and state your concerns in a reasoned manner or not at all. If you continue this confrontational behavior, you may be blocked. You may also wish to adjust your keyboard, as your caps lock key often appears to be stuck.Proabivouac 06:42, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
