[edit] Eugene F. Lally
Hi, I saw you added Eugene F. Lally to the List of Photographers. The list is only for photographers who have Wiki articles, as this is a standard way of judging notability. However, I see that Mr. Lally was a pioneer in digital photography. If you have material on him, I think he would certainly merit an article and could then be included on the List. In the meanwhile, I've added him to the talk page as a way of alerting other editors as to his potential for a future article. SteveHopson 22:34, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
Gentlemen: Yes, Lally was a pioneer in digital photography and other areas of photography and continues as a renound photographer and researcher. He has a web site www.lallyphotography.com and writes articles for archaeology magazines and is referred as a Photo Archaeologist. I could do an article of his history and acomplishments for wiki if you like.
- He certainly sounds like he merits an article. If the statements in his bio can be verified, I would support the article. SteveHopson 23:37, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
Mr. Hopson
The Mosaic paper is authentic, I have a copy and it is the first reference to a digital camera concept anyplace. It was a NASA related effort. It is dated 1961. I would be pleased to write Lally up as long as somebody doesn't take it down the moment it is up. How do I do that?
- OK, here are the instructions on how to get started. I'll keep an eye out for the article and see if I can add any value or formatting changes after you put it up. It sounds like Lally is a really worthy candidate for an article -- I certainly am glad you called him to my attention. We have a History of Photography project that is ongoing and you may want to have a look at joining us in writing and improving articles about photographers and photography. One item that is certainly lacking is information about early digital photography pioneers and I think your article will bolster that knowledge and spur us on to capture more. Thanks, SteveHopson 02:11, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
