[edit] The three-revert rule

Please take a moment to read one of our important policies, WP:3RR. The gist of it is that you can't revert to a previous version of an article more than three times in any twenty-four-hour period.

On the Barney Frank article, you've now reverted three times in the past thirteen hours or so. If you again restore your preferred version in the next several hours, you'll be in violation of the rule.

Beyond the technicalities of the rule, you should notice that several editors disagree with you. Under these circumstances, you're just beating your head against the wall if you try to "win" by incessantly reverting. The real locus for this issue is on the talk page, not in constant reverting. If you think there's significant information that's missing from the article, try to craft additions that meet the policies I've cited on the talk page (WP:NPOV, WP:CITE, and WP:BLP). Also, it would help if you'd stop insulting everyone who disagrees with you. If you're up for reading yet another policy, it's found at Wikipedia:No personal attacks, but the title pretty much says it all. JamesMLane t c 05:56, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
