Bold textIt's not Wikipedia's task to keep book plots quiet because some people might ignore the spoiler warnings. If they do so, they do so at their own responsibility, and that is their problem, not ours. Book plots are a vital part of articles about books, and the reading fun of some future readers is irrelevant. Aecis 12:09, 16 July 2005 (UTC)

A summary is fine, but a chapter-by-chapter plot, a mere eight hours after the book's release, is a bit much. Perhaps, we compromise? Why not only keep the first chapter's plot and add the rest last tonight?

My answer is as short as it is simple: no. The plot of a book belongs in an article about a book. There can be no compromise on that. Aecis 12:36, 16 July 2005 (UTC)

What about the idea on discussion page: a separate page for the plot and spoilers? It can be merged with the original later on.

Again: no. Wikipedia doesn't work that way. Aecis 12:43, 16 July 2005 (UTC)

Wikipedia works however the readers want it to work. You can keep up this war and lock the page, or you can be mature and stick up a compromise.

For a newbie, you claim to know a lot about Wikipedia policy. Wikipedia doesn't work "however the readers want it to work", because Wikipedia is not a democracy. Wikipedia also has strict official policies. Aecis 12:50, 16 July 2005 (UTC)

Not quite a newbie. I don't bother creating a username because I always end up in these petty edit wars. It is a democracy. Each user has a say. Eithers, we wouldn't be able to edit any page.

If you made your first edit less than two hours ago, you are a newbie. But please, enlighten me: which edit wars have you been in before?
Having a say doesn't make Wikipedia a democracy. Wikipedia is basically an administrator oligarchy. The administrators are the ones deciding what remains and what stays. Aecis 13:28, 16 July 2005 (UTC)

My first post wasn't two hours ago. My IP changes each time I reconnect to the internet. My favorite edit war was the Neopets one. Most of the Battledome Chat from Neopets participated. It was good fun.

Then maybe it's time to create a user name after all. But I'm digressing from my point: you don't know anything about how Wikipedia works. Aecis 14:56, 16 July 2005 (UTC)
