open prox - web hosting company ThePlanet.com, reblocking anon-only
Block reason appears valid. — Yamla (talk) 16:15, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
This blocked user (block log | autoblocks | rangeblocks | unblock | contribs | deleted contribs) has asked to be unblocked, but an administrator has reviewed and declined this request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock request while you are blocked.
Request reason: "This IP is NOT an open-proxy (my proxy only allows a small subnet to access it). It is a private server owned by me. The server was compromised over a year ago and had an open proxy installed on it. But that was resolved a long time ago. Please upblock the IP."
Decline reason: "Sorry, we do not allow connections from the web hosting company, ThePlanet.com, due to widespread abuse. Please edit directly. To other admins, note that this review does not count toward the IP address's maximum of two unblock reviews. — Yamla (talk) 16:21, 21 December 2007 (UTC)"
Please make any further unblock requests by using the {{unblock}} template. However, abuse of the template may result in your talk page being protected.
I have asked the original blocking admin to look at the situation. Why not create an account which will offer greater privacy in that your ip will be hidden. -JodyB talk 16:27, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
- As a follow-up: The problem here is not you specifically, but the entire range of addresses owned by ThePlanet.com. You are routing your editing through them and being hit by the range block. There is apparently a long history of abuse arising from those ip's. Again, your option is to register or to edit from your own home/office ip, just not this one. -JodyB talk 17:02, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
Thanks. I don't know why I did not simply create an account from another network. I'll do that. --67.18.217.74 (talk) 13:50, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
| This is the discussion page for an anonymous user, identified by the user's numerical IP address. Some IP addresses change periodically, and may be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users. Registering also hides your IP address.
