[edit] Treasure Planet

I thank you for taking the time to reply and come up with a compromise, and for reminding me about the weasel words policy. Now that you've mentioned the weasel words policy, I agree that my wording grossly goes against Wikipedia policy, but the current wording ("Overall, critics had positive reactions to the film") also seems to be problematic since the word "overall" is a bit misleading. "Few critics had positive reactions to the film" might be more appropriate based on the sources provided, but I don't want to even breathe on the article's reception section before I get your opinion lest we wind up in another edit war.

On a more personal (and honest, apologetic, what-have-you) note, I would have been more than happy to respect your edits if you had taken the time to fully clarify what you were doing even before I even put up a discussion in the talk page. I know that there's no rule requiring one to inform other editors about changes to articles, but it does help prevent edit warring especially if it's a major change to the article's content. I'd like to apologize if I seemed rude in my edits, but I'm sure you can understand how skeptical I was regarding the agenda behind an unregistered editor's edits, especially since your contributions are composed of edits on articles involving "box office bombs". It kind of gave me the impression that you had some sort of personal vendetta against these films, and I'm sorry if you find this to be offensive. To be completely honest with you, your judgment of my edits based on my feelings for the film hit me below the belt, as I was merely trying to keep both points of view regarding the film intact without relying on my personal bias. I guess I failed in a way since I avoided the opposite extremes (negative and positive) so much that I ended up with a poorly written reception section. Of course I'm not asking for an apology for what you said because I'm sure you didn't mean to offend, but I just wanted to clarify that since you seem to have misunderstood my intentions in editing the article. And there's really no need to bite my head off about this and threaten me with a report to the administrators, especially after I took the initiative to clarify things and am willing come up with a compromise...though I do admit that my wording of it was a bit too harsh, and again, I apologize.

Sorry for that long-winded personal note, but I just wanted to be honest and also take the time to apologize for any actions that may have offended you. Cheers. --SilentAria talk 01:47, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Ah, perhaps that's because of my more recent edits? If you look at the entire history of the article, I'm the one who sourced the information on the poor performance of the film in the box office (though I thought that the term "box office bomb" was too harsh at the time since I didn't realize that that was actually a proper term for films that did as poorly as Treasure Planet did), and I also provided the negative reviews from the critics...ah well, enough of that; thank you for responding to my messages and agreeing to a compromise. I also wanted to ask you another thing though; why don't you register as an editor on Wikipedia? You seem to be well-versed with the policies and are focused on upholding Wiki policy, so I think you'd be a great addition to the community...unless of course you're already a registered editor but haven't logged in for some reason, in which case I will probably have to say sorry again for not knowing any better. :p --SilentAria talk 02:16, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
