I am relatively new myself, and I have found the Signpost and the Village Pump to be particularly useful, as well as the Welcome area. Mamawrites 05:00, 26 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] University of Michigan
Dear Mr/Ms. 5-Wing: I'm an alum with too much time on his hands, a student of topology, and have the urge to write. I may (at one time) have created an account, but am generally too lazy to log in. If there were a default to have the page remember me, I would log in each time. BTW: while I haven't been totally remiss with the manual of style, and have depended for the added volume to generate good will, I appreciate your cleanups/edits of my meanderings... BTW: thanks for the Burton Tower image addition...
From your edits, it seems that you have a huge interest in the University of Michigan (are you an alumni?). In that case, you should create a personal account. It is easy to do plus it has some advantages. Pentawing 19:30, September 4, 2005 (UTC)
- If you ever get around to creating a login, please let me know. Pentawing 01:15, 5 October 2005 (UTC)
- Do you mind looking over the article to see if there is anything more that is needed? Thanks. Pentawing 21:43, 18 October 2005 (UTC)
<=== as of 10/18/2005==> I'll create a login in the next few days. I'd be delighted to take a look at the article and revert with comments, which I'll also do in the next few days. In the meantime, thanks for the many contributions. The author currently known as: 66.65.76.15
- Please let me know when you are going to create a profile. I have some things that I like to talk to you about concerning the article. Thanks Pentawing 03:58, 6 November 2005 (UTC)
Welcome, and thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia! Your test worked, and thank you for reverting or removing it yourself. The best way to do tests in the future would be to use the sandbox. You can look at these pages as well: how to edit a page, the tutorial, and how to write a great article. All of these pages are good places to start.
Again, thanks, and we hope that you will like Wikipedia. --NaconKantari 22:53, 11 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] SNRE properties
Thanks for adding this material! I was looking for some sort of synoptic list on the umich site(s), but it's a labyrinth. Yours is an excellent start. (Also--I seem to stay logged in, though I don't remember what I did to make things that way. So it is possible.) Cheers. —rodii 02:21, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
You are quite welcome, I hope the pages will be useful to you. Two thoughts on the labyrinth: 1) the Michigan site is pretty search friendly from an internal standpoint...therefore an "inside" search can be quite effective; 2) sometimes going "inside" to "outside" to "inside" (recursively) is easier...start out in Google, then simply Google UM using any keywords ferreted out of the university site. Again, hope the material is useful, and I'll look forward to some new pages ;)

[edit] Vandalism
You can check out this article Wikipedia:Vandalism which describes the Wikipedia policy on vandalism. In a nutshell, we have to post the warning template, the user has to vandalize another page, and then we have to report it before they can get banned from Wikipedia. Terry. Thanks for the info, and for the heads-up. 66.65.76.15 16:53, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
I see that the page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michigan_Wolverines_football is back to posting 7 national championships. I renew my objection based on the data in the discussion page: 1) the source page cited does not include information from sources that it claims to use; 2) the data that I've included clearly indicates that a source that is used on the rest of the NCAA page is not consistent with regard to the Michigan history; 3) changes should be made to both the NCAA page and the Michigan page given the data that I've found at the source NCAA (not Wikipedia) page in that the Wikipedia page DOES NOT accurately reflect the source NCAA page. Do you agree or disagree? 66.65.76.15 16:58, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Division I-A being switched to I-BS
I undid your change because BS = Bowl Subdivision in this case :-) I know it sounds a lot like spam, I myself made the same mistake before. Cong Yu 16:00, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] An Automated Message from HagermanBot
Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button
located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! HagermanBot 21:42, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
