Welcome
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- Tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
Here are some other hints and tips:
- I would recommend that you get a username. You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, free and non-intrusive, requires no personal information, and there are many benefits of having a username. (If you edit without a username, your IP address is used to identify you instead.)
- When using talk pages, please sign your name at the end of your messages by typing four tildes (~~~~). This will automatically produce your username (or IP address) and the date.
If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my Talk page, or type {{helpme}} on this talk page and a user will help you as soon as possible. I will answer your questions as far as I can. Again, welcome, and I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian. ~ G1ggy! Reply | Powderfinger!
Thank you for your edits on Pittsburgh Steelers. However, consensus has been reached within the Wikipedia community that we will not put "Main rivals" on NFL team articles because we feel that they are POV. See Wikipedia talk:WikiProject National Football League#"Main rivals" list for details. Thanks. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 00:17, 29 July 2005 (UTC)
- I've just received a notice that I'm blocked from editing pages after "vandalism and threats"... neither of which I've done. For the record, the above Steelers information does not pertain to myself. --AWF
[edit] Warnings
Please do not add nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did to Travis Barker. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. A link to the edit I have reverted can be found here: link. If you believe this edit should not have been reverted, please contact me. Húsönd 00:16, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
Your recent edit to Jane Austen (diff) was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to recognize and repair vandalism to Wikipedia articles. If the bot reverted a legitimate edit, please accept my humble creator's apologies – if you bring it to the attention of the bot's owner, we may be able to improve its behavior. Click here for frequently asked questions about the bot and this warning. // MartinBot 00:16, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Jane Austen, you will be blocked from editing. Stephen Burnett 00:17, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
Please do not add unsourced or original content, as you did to Fenwick High School (Chicago, Illinois),. Doing so violates Wikipedia's verifiability policy. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. --ElKevbo 05:16, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

- If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make the edit, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
Please, please read the above. It will save us all a lot of grief. Wikipedia is the encyclopedia anyone can edit, but that doesn't mean they can edit it in disregard of standards. Poindexter Propellerhead 08:23, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
Here's the verifiability page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Verifiability Please read it. I will revert your edits again if you don't follow community guidelines. Poindexter Propellerhead 08:35, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
What we need are LINKS. You refer to a report allegedly done somewhere between 17 and 27 years ago by the US Department of Education. Give us a LINK to it! We can't spend hours searching for these things (if they exist) for you! Poindexter Propellerhead 08:45, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Rush discography, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Hi, the recent edit you made to Beetle has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thanks. Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to Beetle. Your edits have been automatically marked as unconstructive/possible vandalism and have been automatically reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you believe there has been a mistake and would like to report a false positive, please report it here and then remove this warning from your talk page. If your edit was not vandalism, please feel free to make your edit again after reporting it. The following is the log entry regarding this warning: Beetle was changed by 65.54.155.52 (u) (t) making a minor change adding "!!!" on 2008-01-31T22:55:52+00:00. Thank you.
