The criteria for paedophilia in the DSM were developed for diagnosis. Sexual behavior with children over a period of 6 months can be interpreted as indicating a sustained, strong sexual interest in children -- i.e., paedophilia. Interest has many inspirations besides fondness. I'm sure you'd agree, for instance, that very few of these editors are fans of the Holocaust.
If you must know, I'm somewhat obsessed with this subject because the ignorance surrounding it -- like your characterization of the child molester as a "guy sitting on the park bench saying 'want some candy little boy/girl'" -- incenses me. Anti-intellectualism hinders our understanding of child sexual abuse, and if we don't even know what CSA really is, prevention and better treatment is impossible.
I'm not a paedophile, and I believe that paedophilia is an illness and adult-child sex is an enormity. That I have to clarify that merely for my commitment to accuracy is tragic. --AnotherSolipsist (talk) 00:21, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

I'm afraid your accusations against Another Solipsist are extremely inappropriate. Among the articles I have recently edited are: Master race‎ (I'm not a white supremacist), Temple garment‎ (I'm not a Mormon), Carly Corinthos‎ (I've never watched General Hospital) and Japanese American internment‎ (I'm neither Japanese, American nor interned). You simply cannot conclude anything about an editor based solely on which article(s) they edit. Accusing another editor of being a pedophile is extremely serious, not to mention potentially libelous. It is extremely inappropriate. I have blocked this account for 1 week and your main account indefinitely. You have repeatedly said you will not continue to edit Wikipedia.
