Thanks a lot! I wasted 4 minutes of my time creating that article. :( El_C 09:08, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

Hi. Yeah, I know all about the Azerbaijanis. What you're saying is true, although apparently there are some Iranian Azeris who think that they aren't Turkic. :-/
The thing is you're pasting is the entire History of Azerbaijan article into the Iranian Azerbaijan article. We don't need two duplicates of the same thing. Besides, the History and Culture section on the Iranian Azerbaijan page is supposed to simply be a summary, not extremely long. Finally, the History of Azerbaijan is about the history of the nation of Azerbaijan, not Iranian Azerbaijan, why did you paste that text into the article? --Khoikhoi 03:57, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
- Ah, I see what you mean. Yeah, I know that the region of Azerbaijan is divided into two countries. I thought you might be interested in this map and this map. Hey, the whole world may not be aware that most Azerbaijanis live in Iran, but at least I know. So you're not Azeri? Are you Persian? It's pretty interesting how most people from the country of Azerbaijani call themselves Turkic people, but a lot of Iranian Azeris say that they are an Iranian people. Am I correct on this?
- By the way, what did you want me to send you? --Khoikhoi 08:14, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

- Iranian Azeris are Sunni? I know that most Azeris from the country of Azerbaijan are Shiites, but is it the same for the Azerbaijanis of Iran? Also, it's unknown what the Azeri's real origins are, but do most Azeris, north and south, consider themselves to be Turkic people? This matter gets pretty confusing, and politics and government propaganda sure don't help. ;) --Khoikhoi 21:14, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

- Well I heard that many Iranian Azeris are offended when they are called "Turks" and prefer to be simply called Azeris. Is this true? --Khoikhoi 17:54, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

- Interesting. I was talking to another user about this as well. He is half-Azeri, see his comments here. It's pretty interesting what he said.

- Do you think there is a split among Iranian Azeris? One half is the Pan-Turks and the other is the Iranian nationalists? Just wondering what your input would be. --Khoikhoi 07:19, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

- Yeah, but the Shah's government was basically a puppet state. My country (the US) was basically just telling him what to do, and we got a lot of oil from that. This is one of the reasons why the revolution happend, the Shah's government was too corrupt.

- That's interesting that Iran supports Armenia. You would think that since there are so many Azeris in Iran that it would be the other way around but I see why they would do that.

- The Safavids were Turkic, right? Yeah, I really don't like the current president of Iran. He's really said some outrageous stuff.

- I can imagine what it would be like in a country with increasing unrest among an ethinc group. Is there anything else about Iranian Azeris that you wish to enlighten me about? --Khoikhoi 01:08, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] You are not an Azeri
Azeris know they are Iranian, so please stop making these wrong edits and statments. 69.196.139.250 20:41, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
- Ya, we do becuase we only speak a Turkic langauge but are not Turks. Just like Africans who speak English or French that are not ethnically like the French or British. Even Egyptions who speak Arabic but are not really Arabic. That is the case with Azeris. Our ancestors where in the region when the Turks were still in Mongolia. 69.196.139.250 20:40, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

- Please this is just a discussion, and i'm saying these as an azeri, if we are not turks then people who live in turkey are not turks too, righ you're right and i'm right too, turki is an Altai based language, there is a diffrence between azeris and tukish in turkey, and non of them show a real turk face, I CAN NOT talk about the race which in this new world as all we can see is just mixed up, no body got the right race, and nothing can stop this, azeris ruled iran as persians did, right now racially people of turkey-iraq-azerbaijan-iran-...are close to each other, and we can not just separate them, the thing that i say is that me as an azeri am looking for a safe place so i can use and practice my culture and don't let it die, i've seen many people around the world that they love their culture, and what do i have to provide now? if i dance and sing in my way they call me separatist, if i use latin alphabet which is easier for azeri turkish they call me separatist, I don't care if azerbaijan is going to be part of turkey, making an independence country, merging with north, remaining in iran, i just want respect to my culture speacially from persians, then why do we discuss then? so we can understand each other, yeah there is big diffrence between azeri turki and persian language, but people stay the same, no matter in egypt or mongolia, france , germany or america
[edit] Question
Hi. Was that last (very long) comment you left on my talk page directed at me or at 69.196.139.250 ? --Khoikhoi 07:27, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
-
- no that was for you i had no a chance to answer him or her yet
[edit] Yeah
We're living in the Information Age, there's no way that the government can stop all these things from coming to them. However, User:69.196.139.250 is a pretty good example of someone who has really different views on this matter than you do. I was told that a lot of Azeris are more patriotic than the Persians themselves. Do you think that there is increasing tension in Iranian Azerbaijan? --Khoikhoi 01:07, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
