When adding links to material on an external site, as you did to Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, please ensure that the external site is not violating the creator's copyright. Linking to websites that display copyrighted works is acceptable as long as the website has licensed the work. Knowingly directing others to a site that violates copyright may be considered contributory infringement. This is particularly relevant when linking to sites such as YouTube, where due care should be taken to avoid linking to material that violates its creator's copyright. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If you believe the linked site is not violating copyright with respect to the material, then you should do one of the following:
-
- If the linked site is the copyright holder, leave a message explaining the details on the article Talk page;
- If a note on the linked site credibly claims permission to host the material, or a note on the copyright holder's site grants such permission, leave a note on the article Talk page with a link to where we can find that note;
- If you are the copyright holder or the external site administrator, adjust the linked site to indicate permission as above and leave a note on the article Talk page;
If the material is available on a different site that satisfies one of the above conditions, link to that site instead. (Edit reverted: [1].) --Mark H Wilkinson (t, c) 18:00, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] August 2007
Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles, as you did to Virginia Woolf. Your edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you.--Kylohk 02:18, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
Please do not attack other editors. If you continue, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. --Kylohk 04:14, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
OK, for the last time, per the talk page guidelines, talk pages should not be used by editors as platforms for their personal views. Also, your post on your user talk is offensive and a violation of the No Personal Attacks policy, so I suggest you calm down.--Kylohk 04:19, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
This is the only warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.

- If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make any unconstructive edits, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant warnings.
